Baby!

So yea, I’m pretty sure it’s a Filipino family thing, but when one of your cousin’s has a kid, you somehow get called the Uncle/Tito or Auntie/Tita, and they become your niece or nephew. I didn’t make the rules, so please bare with me. I’m pretty tired so I’ll explain the rest in a bit because on top of that, I have a quiz in History tomorrow morning I need to study for. Soooooooooooooo, good night!

Wow

It’s been way too long since I’ve updated here. My apologies :( . Currently, I am in the library right now waiting until my Managerial Accounting class at 3. Anywho, Spring Quarter has officially started and the workload will be pretty intense. I know that I will be finding myself staying up late on certain nights doing homework for Accounting and Managerial Statistics. Normally, anyone would complain, but you know what, you do what you gotta do.

I’m also applying for a summer job here at school, so hopefully I can get hired for that. I’ll post up more details as they become available to me.

Got Money

Cash Money

Cash Money

I certainly enjoyed my time at Morongo, Part 2. I basically won back what I lost, which was $100, but it felt good to win that back and walk out with that stack ;) .

My grades were pretty good and what I expected for the most part. I got that A in Operations Management that I badly wanted, and I passed Business Law with a C (thank goodness). I got a B+ in Advocacy and Argument and a C in History. I’m slowly but surely coming up and it feels oh so good.

I seriously thought everyone was on Spring Break this week but to me surprise a bunch of my friends are still in school! It certainly sucks. However, I’ve been kicking it with Josh a ton so that’s been nice. To recap my Spring Break so far (and I’m so sad it’s ending), I balled last week and got 2 huge blisters on both my feet which HAVE healed for the most part. I went to Morongo a couple of days ago and had a great time with my brother and Mark Madness. I had Sushi Mac and saw I Love You, Man (totally awesome movie. It’s the kind of humor I enjoy a lot where things are not blatantly obvious, but it just is). Aside from that, my optometrist does not carry the D&G frames I wanted =(, but that’s alright. Guess I won’t be baller in new frames, hah!

Oh yea, so the dang Time Warner internet outages that have occurred for the past month finally got to my brother so he called them a couple of days ago and they sent a repair guy to check it out today. To sum it up, he changed one of the cables, our internet is working perfectly, and we got a free upgrade to Road Runner Turbo =). Thanks a ton! I guess it pays to be loyal customers.

Anyways, it’s getting late and I’ve gotta get up in five hours, so stay cool and hope you have all had an awesome week thus far!

Btw, I wanted to upload this picture when I went to HIN Anaheim a couple of weeks backs but the internet would always crap out. I mentioned about meeting her in an earlier blog post, but I figured why not end on a good note and finally upload the picture. So here it is.

You do what you gotta do

Sorry it has been so long! Sadly, I didn’t have the time/willpower to come by here and update as I was finishing up 2 term papers and taking care of finals for Winter Quarter, which were officially done for me as of 9:55am! Feels good man! Here is a brief recap of what I thought was an awesome week!

So last Saturday was HIN Anaheim! My friend Josh (who I haven’t seen in months) and I were going to meet up with 2 more high school friends at the event. The drive going there was alright, hit a couple points of traffic along the way (but who doesn’t on the 5, right?) and the line we thought we would be waiting in for hours… well… we got in in less than 30 minutes. The main reason I was going was to show support for the one and only Alie Layus, who was going to be at the Babe Blvd. booth. Well… yes, I finally got my chance to meet her and even got my signed picture =P. It was totally worth it and I enjoyed myself a ton.

The funny thing about going and meeting her, and even talking with her, is this. I first found out about her in high school (and I am proud of that). I have a dedicated Facebook Group to her (the first and only one). And when my friends found out I finally met her, they were all like “OMG, YOU FINALLY MET HER!?! HAS IT SUNK IN?!?” And my response to all of them is “No, it hasn’t and it never will in the way you guys keep imposing.” The reason for this is that, just like you and me, she is just like anyone else. Meeting and talking to her, yes I am going to say that she is really beautiful in person, but she is kickass and down to earth for the brief minutes I was able to talk to her. It was pretty cool that she even remembered me :) . But yea, to reiterate what I said moments ago, I am glad that I finally met her, but that’s it. I am glad for the opportunity, but there is no need for me to get all crazy. She’s human, she’s a girl, she’s just like you and me.

Here is the agenda for Spring Break: take care of finals (CHECK), basketball all week long, 24 Hour Fitness, Morongo, get lost, road trip, movies, and learn how to ride a bike (seriously). I am so down it’s not even funny.

Nice Guys Finish Last

At least in a relationship perspective. I’ve recently come to terms with this after reading various books and reflecting upon the statement. So what does that tell us? Damn, I wish I knew because despite the fact I have come to terms with it, I still don’t get it! What do you all think?

So I’ve lost almost 40 pounds since school started last fall. I now weigh in at 204 pounds. Yay me.

This Is My Now

This Is My Now by Jordin Sparks

There was a time I packed my dreams away
Living in a shell, hiding from myself.
There was a time when I was so afraid
I thought I’d reached the end.
Baby, that was then.
But I am made of more than my yesterdays.

This is my now,
And I am breathing in the moment.
As I look around,
I can’t believe the love I see.
My fear’s behind me,
Gone are the shadows and doubt.
That was then.
This is my now.

I had to decide.
Was I gonna play it safe?
Or look somewhere deep inside,
Try to turn the tide.
Find the strength to take that step of faith?

This is my now,
And I am breathing in the moment.
As I look around,
I can’t believe the love I see.
My fear’s behind me,
Gone are the shadows and doubt.
That was then.
This is my now.

I have a courage like never before, yeah.
I settled for less, but I’m ready for more.
Ready for more…

This is my now,
And I am breathing in the moment.
As I look around,
I can’t believe the love I see.
My fear’s behind me,
Gone are the shadows and doubt.
That was then.
This is my now,
And I am breathing in the moment.
As I look around,
I can’t believe the love I see.
My fear’s behind me,
Gone are the shadows and doubt.
That was then.
This is my now.
This is my now.

This is a great song, full of really meaningful lyrics AND she performed this wonderfully on American Idol. I love the first verse so much because I’m sure not only myself, but everyone can relate to what it is saying. All I know is that right now, this is my now. I’m breathing in the moment, and I’m enjoying each and every second of life. You just gotta go out there and do your thing. Embrace what is around you and learn to appreciate it.

Straight Up

“If you need an example for how to live, then you just shouldn’t have been born. Straight up.”
-Lil Wayne

This quote that Lil Wayne said during his interview with Katie Couric hit me hard, and straight up, it is as legit as it sounds. If you honestly need an example for how to live your life, your OWN life, then what is the point of living life itself. You go out there, you make your own decisions, you learn from your mistakes, you find yourself that makes you… you.

You certainly have earned my respect, Mr. Carter.

Coraline in 3D

Coraline in 3D was a pretty interesting movie. It dragged in the beginning but picked up during the 2nd half. Overall I enjoyed it a lot AND kept my REAL3D glasses. Afterwards, my brother, sister, and I went to Buca di Beppo’s for some lunch. All this took place at Universal Citywalk, so it was a nice way to kill a few hours and hang out with the siblings. Afterwards, I stocked up on some Spearmint gum by getting me a nice pack at Costco. Very gooooood day.

So I have been listening to so much music this past week and I have to throw out some artists/songs that I am telling you to go check out. The main reason being that each song either has a catchy riff or chorus, or just has an awesome beat.

Flo Rida feat. Akon- Guarantee
Kelly Clarkson- My Life Would Suck Without You
Kelly Clarkson- Long Shot
The Fray- You Found Me
New Found Glory- Heartless at Best
Jet- Look What You’ve Done

The Oscar’s are today! Let’s so Slumdog Millionaire!!
